Gov. Mitt Romney was in South Carolina today to talk about his education agenda.
Much of the former Massachusetts governor’s emphasis was on elementary and secondary education, including his proposal for a federal home-schooling tax credit and his support for merit pay for teachers. He did, however, talk about the importance of education to ensuring the United States will be competitive in a global economy.
A release issued by Mr. Romney’s campaign also highlighted his record in Massachusetts, including the establishment of a statewide merit-aid program.
