Roman Catholic College Is Accused of Due-Process Violation in Firing Gay Professor

A report just out from the American Association of University Professors says that Albertus Magnus College violated the due-process rights of a gay faculty member when it dismissed him.

An A.A.U.P. committee issued the report after investigating the 1997 firing of Michael J. Hartwig, then a nontenured associate professor of philosophy and religious studies at the Roman Catholic college. Mr. Hartwig, an ordained priest, was dismissed in a dispute over whether
