Rock 'n' Roll on Television

I have become increasingly dismayed by Kevin J.H. Dettmar's writing on popular music. Lacking sufficient support for major claims, his arguments fail to express and embody the qualities of thought that I expect from The Chronicle. Two examples from recent essays should suffice to illustrate this point.
