Rochester Institute of Technology Gains a Hotel
When a local hotel developer offered to donate a 304-room Marriott to the Rochester Institute of Technology, the university accepted without reservation.
The hotel, renamed the RIT Inn and Conference Center, will be used primarily as a dormitory. More than 300 students have already moved into 170 rooms in the hotel, and most of the remaining 134 rooms will be converted to student housing next year.
