Call it a mission of mercy: open a dormitory fridge, retrieve three "drinks," then return to pick up a pizza while students relax on a couch.
The catch? The server is a robot that the students have to build from scratch. It's all part of a new television program, Robot Rivals, in which teams of college students will compete, in an NCAA-style tournament, to create machines that would have made Rube Goldberg proud.
