Revealing More Information About Donors
To the Editor:
Uncharacteristic of most of your articles about serious issues facing higher education, Erin Strout's "The Risks of Sunshine" (The Chronicle, July 29) is an unbalanced, incomplete puff piece, the kind you would expect to find in an alumni magazine.
First, it repeated -- with no solid evidence -- a straw man that state-university foundations have been peddling for a decade: that open-records laws will seriously invade the privacy of existing donors and
