Research-University Group Picks U.S. Budget Official as Chief Lobbyist
Lobbyist Watch:
Hoping to strengthen its links to the National Institutes of Health, a chief focus of its lobbying efforts, the Association of American Universities has chosen Richard J. Turman, the White House's point man on the N.I.H. budget, as its new chief of federal relations.
Mr. Turman, who starts in two weeks, fills a vacancy created three months ago, when Susan E. Quantius left to become associate budget director of the N.I.H.
