Requiring Students to Read About Islam Shortchanges Other Religions
To the Editor:
Most people would agree that one of the things we need to do to make this a better and more harmonious world is to try to develop a sympathetic understanding of all the religious traditions and cultures of the human family. Since I believe that this is one of the motivations behind the requirement of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that its freshmen read a book on Islam, ...
