Report Urges Writing Emphasis in Schools
Elementary and secondary schools should spend more time teaching students to write well, so they will be better prepared for college, said a report released last month by the National Commission on Writing in America's Schools and Colleges.
To help achieve that goal, the commission, which was sponsored by the College Board, announced a campaign called "Writing Challenge to the Nation," which will be led by Bob Kerrey, president of New School University.
