Report Urges Universities to Fix, Not Scrap, Poor Teachers' Colleges
While many teacher-education programs leave schoolteachers inadequately prepared for the classroom, the institutions are still the best way to train instructors, and the country should rebuild weak teachers' colleges in the image of the better ones, according to a study released last week by the Educational Testing Service.
