Report Urges NSF to Increase Spending on Environmental Research and Education
The National Science Foundation should increase its spending on research and education on environmental issues by $1-billion a year, and should make such work one of its top priorities, the National Science Board said in a report issued last month.
The report, however, does not endorse a proposal to create a National Institute for the Environment within the foundation to pursue those activities. Congress had ordered the N.S.F. to study
