Report Says Gay and Lesbian Students Face Hostility on Campuses

Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students face a hostile environment on campuses, even at colleges with strong support groups, according to a report released this month by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

The group surveyed more than 1,600 students, faculty members, and administrators identified as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender on 14 campuses. Most of the colleges involved in the survey had campus centers for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender
