Report Reveals Tight Job Market for Historians of Gay Topics
An increasing number of graduate students in history focus on gay and lesbian issues, but when they go on the job market with their Ph.D.'s, they have a tough time finding tenure-track positions, a new report says.
The report -- by the Committee on Lesbian and Gay History, a society that is affiliated with the American Historical Association -- blames bias for part of the difficulty the Ph.D.'s have in finding good jobs. But some historians dispute that contention.
