Report Gauges Effect of Data Sharing
A consensus approach to awarding institutional aid that more than two dozen highly selective private colleges have adopted has not significantly affected how affordable they are, said a government report released last month.
The report, by the U.S. Government Accountability Office, also concluded that those institutions have not been enrolling significantly more or fewer low-income or minority students since starting to use the agreed-upon aid practices.
