Report Accuses Egypt of Abuses
Egypt's government suppresses academic freedom in a variety of ways: censoring reading lists, harassing and even torturing student activists, and creating an atmosphere of intimidation so severe that professors at public universities rarely question their deans or pursue controversial research, according to a new report by Human Rights Watch.
