Regional Accreditors and the Institutions They Have Punished, January 1997-December 2000
This table lists major penalties imposed in the last four years by the six regional accrediting associations. The list includes only those institutions that were put on probation (an action usually taken when a college fails to meet at least one of the accreditor's standards); received a show-cause order asking for a reason why accreditation should not be removed; or had their accreditation revoked. The figures in parentheses show the number of colleges the associations oversee. Foreign
