Regional Accreditors Penalize 13 Institutions in New England and the South
Regional accreditors penalized 13 colleges and removed 12 others from probation or warning status in the latest round of accrediting actions.
Three of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' actions involving well-known institutions became public shortly after its annual meeting ended (The Chronicle, December 19).
In those actions, the association put Auburn University on probation because its trustees meddled in the institution's operations, and restored Grambling
