Reforms for Accreditation and Financial Aid

Your headline for Alan Contreras's recent essay ("How Not to Fix Accreditation," The Chronicle Review, August 10) suggests that Contreras has nothing but criticism for the American Council of Trustees and Alumni's recent policy paper, "Why Accreditation Doesn't Work and What Policy Makers Can Do About It." That's a pity, since in fact Contreras agrees in many important respects with the document.
