Reforms Needed at TIAA-CREF
To the Editor:
Expensive advertising isn't TIAA-CREF's only problem ("A Pension Giant's Extreme Makeover," The Chronicle, November 5). Their much-vaunted customer service works only when the customer does what TIAA-CREF wants.
I am a retired long-term TIAA-CREF investor currently attempting to roll all of my CREF funds into an IRA with another financial firm. The obstacles are staggering: I must obtain a written certification from every employer, even those I left more than 30
