Reform Unlikely in Journalism Education
To the Editor:
Carlin Romano makes some good points about the current failures of journalism schools to educate their students more broadly ("Get Me Rethink! -- the Role of Journalism Education," The Review, March 21). But most major media corporations enjoy significant profit margins on the cheap labor of eager young journalists who are only too aware of the long lines outside their cubicles of competitors hungry for their jobs.
