Recording and Movie Industries Sue Internet2 File Swappers
As their lawsuits against campus file swappers pile up, record companies and movie studios are turning their attention to a new batch of suspected pirates: those who trade songs and films on Internet2's high-speed research network.
The Recording Industry Association of America last week sued 405 computer users whom the industry group has accused of trading copyrighted files at 18 colleges. Each of the defendants, industry lawyers say, swapped songs on i2hub -- a student-run
