Recession Hits Internet2 Where It Hurts --Â in Corporate Membership List
For the first time since it began in 1997, the Internet2 project has posted a net loss of corporate members.
The loss is a small one, but because contributions from corporate members provide much of the network infrastructure and research money on which Internet2 depends, any drop could be worrisome were it to continue, says Jill B. Arnold, director of corporate relations for Internet2. So far, she says, the membership numbers are down by "only six or seven" from an all-time high of 74
