Rankings Said to Hurt Business Schools
An overemphasis on the importance of magazine rankings is leading to a deterioration in American business schools, according to a working paper by three scholars posted on the Social Science Research Network.
In the scholars' paper, "What's Really Wrong With U.S. Business Schools?," the scholars argue that a focus on rankings, like those published in BusinessWeek, divert resources from research and other areas in favor of quick fixes.
