Racial Segregation Is Revived in South Africa's Dormitories
Universities diversify enrollments, but white and black students push to live apart
Although apartheid is now illegal in South Africa, segregation has returned to some university dormitories.
Even at universities that once were in the forefront of resistance to apartheid, segregation has occurred spontaneously, through what officials call "white flight." As increasing numbers of black students have moved into dormitories, white students have relocated to apartments and houses
