If there were a presidential candidates’ debate on the sciences and science policy — as a sizable group has urged — Joseph A. Davis suggests eight questions. The science writer offers these at the Nieman Watchdog site of Harvard’s Nieman Foundation for Journalism.
The questions touch on regulation and public safety, global warming and emerging pandemics, space exploration, genetic engineering, patent laws, and other vital but thorny topics.
