Questions Remain About Oxford University Press's Role in Indian-Essay Controversy
Responding to a strong letter of protest from scholars worldwide, Oxford University Press says it has not censored the work of the late Indian scholar, translator, and poet A.K. Ramanujan. But the general editor of the author's Collected Essays, published by Oxford, says the press still must answer questions about its role in a court case involving one of Ramanujan's essays and whether it intends to continue to publish the work.
