Questions About Foundations That Support Technology Projects
Question: As open source has become more popular in the corporate world, it has increasingly been a target for litigation. Nobody has actually violated intellectual-property law — it's just that some claimant's lawyer sees an opportunity to go after companies, and the cost of going to court is greater than paying a settlement fee. Will foundations indemnify higher-education institutions from such frivolous lawsuits?
