Questionable Contracting at UConn Leads to Scrutiny of Building Program
A $2.3-billion construction program at the University of Connecticut is the subject of multiple inquiries after the discovery of dozens of fire- and building-code violations in a new student residential complex.
Investigations by the state police, as well as by the Board of Trustees and a special commission appointed by Gov. M. Jodi Rell, are seeking to determine whether contractors cut corners during construction and how the university awarded and administered building
