Purdue Clears Physicist of Misconduct
A committee at Purdue University that investigated whether a prominent physicist had doctored the evidence of his claims of success in low-cost fusion experiments has cleared him of research misconduct.
The physicist, Rusi P. Taleyarkhan, was lead author of a paper in the journal Science in 2002 reporting that his laboratory had created a form of "tabletop," or inexpensive, nuclear fusion. Critics say that Mr. Taleyarkhan could not have done what he claimed, and that his experiments
