Public Institutions and Personal Values
To the Editor:
Among the gems that can be mined from The Chronicle's 2009-10 Almanac issue is this, from the bottom of Page 28: Only 42.8 percent of the faculty and staff members at public universities believe their institutions strive to "help their students examine and understand their personal values," whereas at private universities the figure is 71.4 percent.
