'Psychology Today' Hires First Scholar as Editor in Chief; Novel by Yale Literary Scholar Draws a Tough Critic

Psychology Today, long ignored or disparaged by academic psychologists, will be edited for the first time by one of their own.

Robert Epstein, a professor at United States International University, in San Diego, will take over as editor in chief beginning with the October/November issue. He will replace Anastasia Toufexis, who says she is leaving to pursue other projects.
