Psychological Research on Work
To the Editor:
I appreciated Howard Gardner's effort to illuminate the study of people's work lives ("Good Work, Well Done: a Psychological Study," The Review, February 22). Surely, work is a topic that richly deserves the attention of top-notch scholars. However, Gardner's thesis that academic psychology has "strangely neglected" the study of work is puzzling. He has, in fact, strangely neglected decades of inquiry in the fields of counseling/vocational psychology and career
