Provost Takes Leave of Absence After Being Accused of Slapping Professor
A provost at Delgado Community College who was accused of slapping a professor began a temporary leave of absence last month, after the allegations were leaked to reporters.
J. Berengher Brechtel, the provost of the Louisiana college's West Bank campus since 1981, offered to go on paid leave until the college completed an investigation.
According to a campus-police report, the trouble began in 1998.
