Providence College Cuts 3 Men's Teams
Providence College has become the latest institution to drop men's sports programs to try to come into compliance with federal gender-equity laws.
Many colleges have had to cut or cap men's sports, rather than simply add women's programs, to come into compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
Providence has announced that it will cut three men's programs as part of a four-year plan
