Education Conservancy Unveils Prototype for ‘Noncommercial’ College-Search Tool

Lloyd Thacker has long criticized college rankings. On Thursday he unveiled a prototype for what he describes as a “noncommercial” alternative.
At the annual conference of the National Association for College Admission Counseling here, a few dozen admissions officials and high-school counselors got an early look at CollegeSpeak, an interactive online tool that would allow applicants to search a database of information about colleges, and encourage them to think critically
