Protesters Declare Victory at U. of Hawaii
A group of about 50 student protesters at the University of Hawaii-Manoa declared victory earlier this month and ended their six-day sit-in at the office of the university system's interim president, David S. McClain.
The protesters left Mr. McClain's office after he hand-delivered a letter to them in which he promised to deal with their concerns about a proposed Navy research center for the campus.
The students, along with some faculty members, said they opposed the center
