Prosecutors Drop Drug Charges Against CUNY Scholar
Federal prosecutors have withdrawn charges against an anthropologist they had accused of embezzling grant money to buy heroin for a research project. But government officials said they would continue to investigate, and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where the anthropologist is a tenured professor, promised to pursue efforts to fire him.
