Proposed Rule Would Penalize Teams if Players Flunked Out
The Southeastern Conference is proposing a new rule for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, designed to punish teams whose athletes fail their classes.
According to the proposal, if a scholarship athlete flunks out or withdraws from the college in poor academic standing, the athlete's team would not be allowed to transfer that scholarship to another player.
