Proposed Fees for Broadcasting Songs Online Worry College Radio Officials
Some college radio stations are enraged over the U.S. Copyright Office's proposal for the fees that they will have to pay to broadcast music over the Internet.
Not only are the proposed fees too high, radio officials say, but many college stations will have trouble complying with the requirements for tracking the number of people who listen to the songs online. Payments are to be determined by multiplying a base rate by the number of songs played and the number of online
