Obama's Budget Proposes Big Increases for Science
Washington
Even at a time of economic stress, the Obama administration has proposed a budget for the 2010 fiscal year that would appear to keep the country on track to meet the president's goal of doubling federal funds for basic scientific research over the next decade.
The research budget places heavy emphasis on financing work in such areas as cancer and renewable energy.
