Proportion of Students Who Consider Suicide Declines, Study Shows
The percentage of college students who reported feeling depressed or having suicidal thoughts declined from 1987 to 1997, according to a new study of a handful of campuses.
But the report, based on the responses of 962 students in 1987 and 1,455 students in 1997, found that the proportion of students who reported actually having attempted suicide remained fairly constant.
