Project to Digitize Back Issues of Scientific Journals Gains Support
The JSTOR digital-journal project is about to make more headway in creating computerized copies of back issues of important scientific journals.
The Howard Hughes Medical Institute announced this month that it would award $800,000 to JSTOR, a digital archive, for the project. JSTOR's president, Kevin Guthrie, said that the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation had also awarded JSTOR more than $1-million.
