Programs for Postdocs in the Humanities
To the Editor:
I would like to clarify a few facts about the Introduction to the Humanities program at Stanford University, and the role of postdocs in it ("Holding Pattern in the Humanities," The Chronicle, March 11). While your reporter is correct in characterizing the position of our postdocs as a "hybrid between a teaching-heavy internal postdoc and a research-oriented Mellon postdoc," I believe he tends to overemphasize the former and understate the latter.
