Program Will Open Way for American Students to Teach English in China
College students wishing to become teachers of Chinese will soon be eligible for scholarships, thanks to an unusual new collaboration between the College Board and the Chinese government.
In April the testing service and Hanban, the China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, announced a $750,000 scholarship program that will certify nearly 300 students in the United States to teach Chinese in high schools.
