Professors in Albania End Their Strike
University professors in Albania ended a walkout last month that had lasted for more than three weeks after the government promised to increase salaries and respond to other key demands. Most of the more than 2,000 faculty members at Albania's 11 higher-education institutions had been on strike, demanding a doubling of their salaries and increased budgets and autonomy for their campuses.
