Professors as Fund Raisers

To the Editor:

Robert C. Allen's essay should be required reading for all faculty members, particularly for all who consider becoming department chairs, deans, or presidents ("Why Professors Should Learn to Be Fund Raisers," Opinion, November 13). Mr. Allen presents the most articulate case I have ever read for faculty involvement, with wonderful, clear examples of the rewards of doing it
