Professors With Asperger's Syndrome and Other Disabilities

To the Editor:

I must voice the strongest disapproval of Mikita Brottman's "Nutty Professors" (The Chronicle Review, September 16). The author's note does not disclose that she is a therapist, with a practice in Baltimore. Why was this not revealed?

While this presumably gives her the ability to perform out-of-office diagnoses of people she barely knows, she is utterly and completely ignorant of the specifics of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Her belief is that if persons
