Professor Charged With Murdering His Wife
A professor at East Georgia College was arrested this month and charged with murdering his wife, who was also a professor at the two-year college.
Walter C. Mason Jr., 48, an associate professor of physical education, was being held without bond in the death of Emily Pestana-Mason, 38. According to the Emanuel County Sheriff's Office, Ms. Pestana-Mason, an assistant professor of English, was found stabbed to death at the couple's home, in Swainsboro, Ga., on April 29.
