Professor Accused of Genocide Is Removed From Teaching Duties

A professor of French at Goucher College has been removed from his teaching duties pending investigations into accusations that he was involved in the 1994 genocide in his native Rwanda.

The college's president, Sanford J. Ungar, said in an e-mail message sent to students and faculty and staff members on Saturday that he had been unaware of an Interpol advisory detailing the accusations against Leopold Munyakazi, who was indicted in 2006 on genocide charges in Rwanda.
