Private Satisfaction
On considerations like how clear the path to tenure is or how plainly an institution communicates its expectations of professors, junior faculty members at public colleges rate their institutions higher than do their counterparts at private colleges, according to a new report by researchers at Harvard University. But private institutions get higher marks than public ones in young professors' ratings of job satisfaction over all.
